Common efforts
Many different stakeholders are making efforts to promote food research. Financers, researchers and branch organisations är some the stakeholders working together for the development of the food chain.
European Technology Platforms (ETPs) are industry-led, public/private partnerships encouraged by the European Commission to drive innovation and unite stakeholder communities. The main goals of the ETPs are to strengthen the European innovation process, improve knowledge transfer and stimulate European competitiveness across the food chain. It is also called "Food for life".
In Sweden there is a parallell encouraged by Li, The Swedish food industry. It is called "Nationell strategic researchagenda for food".
During 2010-2014 there is a program for foodresearch conducted by the government and the food sector. It is called Tvärlivs.
In the autumn of 2012 the Government will present a new research and innovation bill.
